A beautiful world?

Honestly and truly, I hate what the world has become. I am leading a perfectly normal life, no major break-up, no abuse, nothing. It’s the corruption that is making me say this. Rapes, murders, assaults, harassment and the list goes on. Will this ever come to an end? I think not.

I could get raped, you could get assaulted, anyone of us could be a victim.

It could be someone’s mother, father, son, daughter, lover or just somebody.

Humanity? That sounds like a new word.

It makes me feel sick and disgusted when I think I am a part of the human race; the race with no humanity. It makes me wonder what and how I’d do in the future when more corruption would persist.

As a 16 year old, I can’t do much. My voice will be unheard. With the grotesque world around me, I’ll be just another person who’s trying to protect herself from being another victim of this prevailing brutality. I am scared. At the end of the day, everyone is.

A beautiful world, eh?

  1. On a specific research video I heard that this world is most peaceful ever for the whole of human history so far. So how can we be hearing this much of crimes, rapes and all these BAD situations increased? Well it`s just that we have better ways to gain info. All the world is relied upon a media mafia which control the news inflow to us. So we see a bad world more than ever.
But this doesn’t mean that world is any good now. I just want to point out that we are just been illusional due to the controlled info we get.
Finally, together with you, I`m looking forward to a good world with a sense of true humanity!

    1. I wonder how on earth the world could be the most peaceful place when you hear about some crime committed every hour..

  2. It truly is an ugly world we live in filled with awfully disturbed individuals. I deem the terms inhuman/inhumane no longer valid taking into account the gruesome acts committed by our species. Even the innocent little kids and senior citizens aren’t spared these days. Everything is just so messed up! There’s so much aggression, anger and detestation depicted in today’s crimes.
The digital era is to be blamed for all the misfortune that’s happening around the world. The internet itself is probably the most terrifying inventions yet; it contains the entirety of information known to man and each of us owns a device, in our pockets that is able to access this information. SCARY in’it?!
Movies, videos games, pornography, social media; these are what’s corrupting civilization. We’re so often exposed to all this because it’s easily accessible to us. Little do we realize that each time we engage ourselves in watching a movie or playing a video game we’re subconsciously being indoctrinated to the beliefs and ideas of what we hear and see and this progressively alters our mindsets into such things like murdering a person isn’t the worst thing or sexually assaulting someone is an amusing act. The ‘Steubenville rape case’ is a classic example.
The world is beyond healing. Balance can no longer be restored as human corruption has reached its pinnacle. All we do can is hope for a better tomorrow and pray for a brighter future.

  3. Please remove the photograph of the crying African girl from this blog post. It is my photograph and I do not give permission for it’s use. It’s not that I disagree with your work, but, as a photojournalist, it is important for me for my photographs to keep true to the original stories they were taken for. Please remove. Thank you.
